 Calpe Gilbert & Sullivan Society Pirates of Penzance was a big success and raised money for Caritas and EMAÚS.  Campoverde Theatre On the final night of Cafe Rene a cheque was presented to the AECC for 500 euros. Rehearsals will start at the end of August for the October Supper Theatre, with producer Tony Kelly and MD Keith Monk at the helm.  Careline Theatre Members celebrated the End of the Season with a reading of a brand new play by Badleigh Ritton, Lady Lemon Duck which is set in the Chinese Imperial Palace sometime in the distant past. With the support of a well stocked and superbly run bar, members had enormous fun reading this light-hearted and whimsical piece of Chinese classical nonsense which tells a story of despair, love, greed and treachery. Cameo The hit show The Cameo Oscars will be performed again on Saturday, 3rd July at the Rte Bar Mediterraneo, Teulada. Dinner – 19.30h, Show – 21.00h, Ticket 15 euros.  Footlights Theatre GroupLead parts for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have now been cast except for a couple of additional men as Joseph’s brothers.  GASP This new theatre group in Gran Alacant and Santa Pola, known simply as GASP, presented their first ever production on 12th/13th June. The show which was very well received comprised a variety of sketches including a solo from Christine Lombardy - Summertime - and a skit on a radio show The Starchers. (See picture.)  The Rascals Recently donated 1,350 euros to the Alzheimer´s Association and have now raised over 100,000 euros for local charities.
