DP Entertainment - Black Coffee Groove

dp ent qf focus june17 3Hi All.

I'm always very keen to promote the diversity of the local musical talent, here in the South Costa Blanca.

I recently discovered a newly formed trio named "Black Coffee Groove".

Black Coffee Groove was born from a desire to perform classic pop and rock music, but with a creative perspective, as opposed to copying it. Thus taking the original song and fusing it with jazz, Latin and Blues influences, to create an exciting, fresh interpretation of the piece.

dp ent qf focus june17 1The creative process is challenging, but enjoyable, and allows for freedom of expression and improvisation.

To achieve this aim, band members Brad, Dave and Sergio came together to make this idea a reality.

Black Coffee Groove is a piano based trio with one foot firmly in pop, and the other in jazz / Blues music.

They cover the work of artistes such as Sting, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Jimmy Hendrix, Paul Weller, Jamie Cullen, Bruno Mars and Ray Charles.

The line-up of the band consists of :-

Brad - Piano / Vocals.

Brad has worked for many years as a gigging and studio musician. Taking to the piano quite late in life, he has worked in Cyprus, before moving to Spain in 2015. Brad is also part of the host band at The Big Jam, held at Villa Salada, San Luis, every Sunday afternoon.

Dave Diggle - Drums.

Dave is a well respected ex professional drummer, with a vast experience of playing in bands for many years. It's his extensive background, working on shows and musicals that enables his versatility to shine through on the Black Coffee Groove project. He enjoys the freedom of improvisation, being a big fan of jazz fusion.
Sergio Valcarcel Diaz - Bass Guitar.

He certainly lets his fingers do the talking. He is well known on the local music circuit, having worked with the respected Nick Barker Trio and
L C.D. Funk.

Black Coffee Groove are now playing gigs on the Costa Blanca. They are a most enjoyable combo and I'd recommend any interested venues to contact them.

Watch the local press for up coming events featuring this great trio.

Bye for now D.P.
