To celebrate I am not baking (big sighs of relief all round) but instead we are giving away 1000 Euros in our Anniversary Prize Draw.

For the Price of a Coffee A Day

By now, regular readers of this column will recognise that I live a good deal of my life on the internet. Asked recently if I could live without the internet, my answer was a reserved ‘yes’. Of course, the internet isn’t nutritious, and it can’t replace the air that I breathe but – and it’s a big, BIG BUT – my life is undeniably enhanced by having access to the internet, so my unreserved answer would be “NO”!

Bennys October Hit List

Writer and broadcaster Benny Davis looks at some of the things that bring out his darker side and asks what makes you see red? LETTER OF THE MONTH Dolores Hunter living in Alicante sent me an actual letter through the post. It contained quite a list of trivial moans; why do Spanish restaurants swop the pepper and salt pots around and why has her friend’s 500,000 euro villa been reduced to rubble by the local council – but one item did interest me, “What is a machine readable passport?” Dolores understands that US immigration will not allow entry into the country unless passports have this facility. So here is the simple answer Dolores, lifted directly off the web for you.
